Dr. Schoenbaum has been instrumental in the development of the Interventional Radiology program in the Memorial Hospital system as Director of Cardiovascular and Interventional Radiology from 1974 to 2001. He has been on the teaching faculty at Albert Einstein College of Medicine and the University of Miami School of Medicine.
In addition to scientific exhibits and many lectures on Cardiovascular and interventional radiology, he as authored 11 published articles and is the senior author of 7 scientific publications. These include such subjects as: renal artery embolism; thrombolytic therapy for superior mesenteric artery embolism; diagnosis of bleeding gastric leiomyomas; and diagnosis of squamous cell carcinoma of the pancreas. Others include; sonographic diagnosis of tubal pregnancy; endobronchial metastasis and transbronchial biopsy for the diagnosis of sarcoidosis. He was past president of the South Florida Radiological Society and has received awards for community service. He has served on various councils and boards of directors in the local Jewish community.
